  1. I'm not saying it was aliens...

    ...but it was aliens.

  2. What exactly is it doing? GMS has been giving me stupid problems as well. I ended up downloading the early access beta version. It's working much better now.

    1. I won't go into free mode or accept my license. I enter it in, it says it works, restarts, and then says to enter the license again.

    2. Wow GM is dumb. Does the license have some stupid expiration date or something like that?

    3. Nothing on their forums about the issue?

  3. Well that's lame... Guess you're going to have to wait before you get my money

  4. Ouch. Sorry to hear that. Maybe now, until this gets resolved, would be a good time to learn a programming language that lets you pull off similar stuff? ActionScript 3 has very similar syntax to GML (at least last time I checked, it did) and FlashDevelop + Flashpunk lets you develop all sorts of cool things quickly.

Unless you somehow use nothing but the drag-and-drop functionality in GM. I don't know how people manage to suffer with that little control. :l

    1. Nah, I don't really use any drag and drop anymore. Pretty much everything is in scripts at this point.

Once I hire an artist, I'll be learning Unity in my free time. For 3d,though, rather than 2d.

    2. you probably already know this, but Unity dose have some native 2d tools now. The new animation tools they have are really nice.

  6. I wouldn't be surprised if this was caused by their gay DRM checks. I sounds very weird that this would happen after a reformat.

    1. Probably, in my case, I couldn't run GMS without an internet connection. Well, either that or it just takes a much longer time to load because of the check.

  7. That's exactly why I use a pirated version of GMS. My legal version continuously crash, and the pirated version work perfectly... So strange. Maybe it's because of steam...
Sorry for you, Kyrieru, and good luck to repair this :/
