Can confirm that the cgi scaling is still a issue. I had to disable DPI upscaling from the compatibility menu for the V7 exe before the pictures display as intended. The rest of the game is fine of course, only the cgi have this issue. I also noticed that changing directions while blocking feels a bit clunky. If I run to the right and hold down block, then press left to turn around, the knight will not turn unless I have released the right button before pressing the left (even if I later release left while still holding right). In the heat of combat this sometimes makes the knight stuck blocking in one direction when what you really wanted to do was a fast turn. It's not a huge issue but it comes of as a bit jarring since the rest of the game plays so smooth. Turning around when not blocking works perfectly fine. The horizontal lunge (down, left/right, attack) is also very unreliable and I'm not sure why. Sometimes it simply doesn't want to trigger. I'm well aware that this and the last issue might be because of my particular keyboard but wanted to report on it anyway in case you see the same at your end. Keep up the good work. This is one slick game. I'm really enjoying Eroico now, possibly more than Kurovadis!
Fixed it. Changed the way pressing directions works in general. Now it does the right thing for moving, too.As for the DPI thing, I disabled it in the exe, but I guess it doesn't carry over?
Awesome!Ok, if the exe settings don't carry over then the best solution is to fix it through GM I think. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything. But I wonder why the upscaling is only targeting your cgi screens... Is there any window settings in GM that are applied to your other rooms that the cgi rooms don't have? Like 'borderless-window vs fullscreen' or some kind of scaling you apply to only the normal rooms.If you use windows 10 you can go to display settings -> "Change the size of text, apps and other items" and set it to above 100%. This should allow you to reproduce the bug (assuming you enable DPI scaling for the exe again) so you can easier test for solutions
I'm still on 7As for the CG thing, there isn't a way to fix it in GM 8.1. The game is a low resolution scaled up, whereas the CGs need to be displayed at 1920 x 1080 in fullscreen. In the future this wouldn't happen because I'd just do pixel art CGs, and later GM has better options for scaling. But for Eroico, there isn't really a perfect solution.
I still have the sluggish block turning on 7.1. The best way I can describe it is that if I tap left and right fast then the knight will dance around like you would expect. But if I hold down the block key and tap left and right fast the knight will lock to one direction instead of turning back and forth. This makes changing direction while blocking feel weird.But as I said it might be my keyboard. You'll have to see if you experience any difference in turning back and forth fast when blocking compared to just standing.
Yeah don't sweat it about the gci thing. I didn't even notice it was a problem at first because they look surprisingly normal even when zoomed in. I just brought it up because it will probably affect many users (about anyone with win10 and a high res). If I stumble upon a easy fix I'll let you know

So what has been changed difficulty-wise? It doesn't seem any different.
Platforming sections are different, and attack hitboxes were made larger and stay out longer (on all difficulties). Other than that there are no differences. The difficulty doesn't affect any platforming in the first area.Other than that, bosses lost some of their BS attacks. In general the difficulty isn't much different.
Ah, it's hard to tell if switching to a controller helped or if it was the hitbox changes. I just hope I'll be able to get through Noaika.
I wouldn't worry about Noaika; the difficulty is far more casual. As for Eroico, I just didn't want to change Eroico to the point of making it an entirely different game.
There are some problems in gallery mode - enemies. At the level-3 map, the speed become too fast to control when Vsync is turned off. This won't happen at lv1 or lv2 map. Also, at the lv3 map, some graphic crush are found.

Noooooope. lolI won't be touching Eroico again. Maybe someday I'll do a game thats meant to be updated with content, however I would do it with a new game, rather than Eroico. Eroico was fine for the time, but it's pretty rough around the edges, and working with it is limiting.

This little gem of a game is really worth the effort.Anyway I found one more little thing : the possibility of falling back intentionally (left bumper on gamepad) makes you invulnerable for the time you lay on the ground. Could be used to avoid being beaten during some phases in bossfights.

I must be getting worse at these games... the second level, room with a bunch of spikes and boxes that boost you up when hit. Very frustrating. Died so many times, just didn't want to continue. Nice animations and play, otherwise.
In the revised version, there are additional blocks that make those segments much, much easier.On Easy difficulty, there are loads and loads of these blocks; the platforming sections become trivial.I just played through the game on Normal difficulty. Never died, and the platforming segments were very easy.Only on Hard difficulty does the game retain the original platforming sections, and even then, I'm pretty sure the new and larger hitboxes on your attacks make them easier anyway.At worst, practicing with the red boost blocks (the ones above safe ground) to properly learn how they propel you around should be enough to make you better at dealing with these sections.
On the easiest difficulty setting you re-spawn at the beginning of every room, so I can't make it much easier than that...

Some things wont work but some things will. The prog file which contains CG and enemy gallery data will always work though.

Nope, I tried redownloading the file and restarting my computer, both didn't help. As far as I can tell it's random whether this error shows up. Sometimes I manage to get into the next zone but sometimes I just crash when I try to get into the next zone.
Would any sort of details help you out here?

If you're just getting started with GM, then no, probably not. It isn't that difficult to make the jump to 2 when you want to, and GMS1 is probably easier to learn.However, GM2 has a lot of quality of life changes (such as layers in the room editor, auto tiling, etc) that make a huge difference, and depth works different than it did in GM1, so a few things that work different might throw you off temporarily.

I'm procrastinating in general. Not on Noaika specifically, but all the things I'm doing before Noaika.I have a bad habit of procrastinating on stuff I don't want to do (for example, I need to animate a blowjob for a patreon thing), but because I never have the enthusiasm for it, I keep putting it off, and yet I don't do other things (Like Noaika, or one of the other games) in the mean time. I sort of just meander around drawing, or looking for something to play ("after that I'll do the animation!"), but then realize there's nothing I want to play, and the lack of enthusiasm procrastination loop continues. Throw in the usual health problems and progress is slow.That's the main reason I want to get Patreon out of the way and end it. While sometimes I procrastinate with games, they have a lot of parts to them, and so if I dont want to animate, I can program, or make music, etc. Patreon animations were fun for a while, but I don't really have a passion for it.
So work first thing in the morning, and set daily goals for yourself. You need a Producer, man.Get your daily goals met early, then spend the evenings relaxing guilt-free. Never trust "Future you".
The problem isn't knowing what's wrong, or what to do, the problem is labeoufing it.

I have the same problem as Kyrieru, what works for me is playing videogames co-op with friends instead of alone. Then after that I feel more recharged to do something that isn't as fun. Work, basically.But yeah, JUST DO IT, after finding something that helps take your mind off of things. Perhaps you've been doing this non-stop for too long without an actual break.
My game (demo) runs really slow for me for some reason (using Win 10). It's constantly slower than what the game is supposed to be and because of that it is unplayable aswell. Please tell me you have a clue on how to fix this?

Just downloaded the demo, I have to say that the animations are improved, more when you're knocked out. Still the controller is a big issue for the LACK of button personalization. I'll miss the animation of the kitties of V10.Overall, great game.

Hey thanks for the projecting that most of us are pirates! And what you define as mad is stupid. Kyrieru exaggerates his promises and delivers zero games. And so people are complaining. There always has to be a certain amount of praise and critic and in my opinion kyrieru deserves the amount.
It's not as much a projection as is comparing the amount of downloads on official sites vs the amount of visitors on the blog, as well as people who explicitly said they wouldn't pay for it just cause it's taking so long. Does kyrieru take forever to release a game? Yes, but he isn't asking you to constantly donate to him or do anything on your side like other indie h-game developers do; and I'd rather have a late polished game than an early bugged one.
Good points. But we're not talking about "late". We're talking nearly two years beyond initial estimations. Sure, they WERE only estimations. But anticipating (And pre-ordering for many of us) something that takes several YEARS and is still in a nebulous and unknown state (Do we even have a concept of how complete or incomplete it is?) is immensely frustrating.Both the fanboys praising and the critics flaming are both testaments to how incredible the finished products are. We just express it differently.
Personally I also think the update quality from him has dropped somewhat. I just went back to check how long ago i pre-ordered and the demo came out (2.5yrs btw) and if you check out the stuff he was posting it actually felt like stuff was progressing. Now it's like "hey guys still got some stuff to do heath probs getting in the way and want to finish out the patreon animations" every month. I'm sure stuff is happening, but even if it's not something showy some "so music is interesting to make for a game, this is the software im using, this is some of the challenges im facing"

I don't recall if it was opinion on my part or something he said, but the pre-order money was so much that he might have decided to make the game better to compensate. Since his original plans didn't match what he talked about later. I think a lot of the wait was attributed to him feeling more desire to improve things, which made it take longer to make.

It's been 3 months since the last post, but he's still alive. Posts on twitter every once in a while. Assuming he's doing the "shut up until I have something to show" thing.
Honestly Ky really just needs to post something to reduce frustration and let us know something is happening. He doesn't need to post anything significant either, just show us a background or a clip of some music he's planned. Even if it doesn't make the final cut it's something to let us know that progress is being made. Say what you will about him having no obligation to show anything, but the fact remains that his lively hood rests entirely upon interest in his games. By taking this completely silent stance he's alienating a great deal of people. I know he's mentioned before about not wanting to spoil anything, but at this point it's not clear whether Noaika is even a live project anymore. If you read this Ky, please, give us something. Anything at all. Even if it's about the side projects you've mentioned.

I'm having trouble with the sound, it's continuously choppy/disrupted.Any idea why that may be? I hear it may be due to the usage of the wav format.
Include gamemaker in a search query in google, and you'll be more likely to find an answer. Unfortunately it's not something I can control, as far as I know.First thoughts are, change sample rate etc in sound settings and see if it helps.

Other than my first playthrough, I've been having an issue with the game crashing seemingly at random. I've tried changing every in-game setting I can and closed other programs with no success. The game will run just fine for a while and then just crash regardless of what is happening. My best guess is that it somehow relates to the fact that I have been playing in more of a speedrun style, quickly going through levels and leaving a lot of enemies alive which may be leading to a memory issue? I'm really unsure and I would love to play the game more (the movement is really fun!) but the crashes are very demotivating. Any suggestions? I'm on windows 8.1 and can provide more specs if needed.Thank you for your time and the fun game.
A quick update that restarting my computer seems to have resolved the issue, which I obviously should have tried beforehand. Still a fairly curious set of circumstances.
I've never had crashing issues, but I have had speed issues solved by restarting. Pretty odd some of the problems GM games had. Hopefully nothing like that will happen with newer GM versions, which I use now.
