Animation Revision

Here's the revised animation. Took quite a while -___-

The main thing with the expressions was making the glasses bigger than the eyes, and changing some colors.

  1. Thank you Kyrieru, it looks greatI I really like that is is much easier to see the facial expressions as it progresses. I hope you are doing well~

  2. Very nice, You handled those glasses very well this time

  3. This is quite better. Can confirm as fappable. ^^

Still nothing holding her legs up which looks a bit strange but mkay, that's a detail and absolutely unnecessary.

    1. Not "absolutely unnecessary". Just maybe not necessarily problematic.

    2. I think she is holding her legs up by herself.

  6. Great work! The change of the facial expression really makes a difference.

If you already tried it out, what do you think of this game? http://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ164950
I personally liked how they implemented the h elements into the gameplay aspect. Progression can be a bit tedious and the animation itself could use some work but still, I did enjoy it quite a bit. Then again, I am a bit more forgiving with pixel h games since they are my favorite.

  7. Now this is what I'm talking about :) You actually pulled off those glasses in pixel art

    Can't wait for next one

  8. Ngggh, those cute glasses

  9. It's amazing how the smaller details can really make a difference, still I guess that's the very nature of working with pixels.

  10. That actually looks much better. Not that there's anything wrong with Inkling Fio.

    1. Yeah, "The Thing". When the clobberin' time at, Kyrieru? ^___^

It is something we should be looking forward, isn't it?

    2. O_o Now I'm just hoping he's not working on animation of Benn Grimm. Just the thought of it burns my eyes.

"The Thing I'm working on" indeed.

  19. Hello Kyrieru :) Just a request, could you please make a post or short update for those who paid you in advance for Noaika? Just a rough idea of how it is going, keep them updated stop them from worrying etc. Explain exactly where you are and what future plans are please :) Because it is getting very upsetting by this point so a simple short address of the problem would be greatly appreciated ^^

Many thanks and keep up the good work x

    1. Well, estimates are just going to disappoint people, and I don't want to spoil any of the game's content with previews. Ideally, I want people to go into the game not knowing what to expect.

The other problem is that I have more than enough content for a demo, but the beginning of the game is still a little "malleable". Certain parts of the story are still changing, or have yet to be decided upon, and so I don't want to spend a bunch of time polishing a demo, only to realize down the line that it's not going to be representative of the final game again (or that I spoiled something I decide I shouldn't have revealed until later in the game, etc).

      Delete
    2. Just give us a couple rooms to jump around in and throw a few enemies around. It doesn't have to be a final demo, it can just be a purely gameplay demo. No story need be involved, we just want to see something, seeing as it's been more than a full year since the first demo.

Clearly the demo you have available is far less of a good representation of what we should expect.

      Delete
    3. IIRC you said you'd make a second demo before the final, so you shouldn't worry so much about plot (as long as it isn't potential spoilers)

      Delete
    4. I don't expect anything new or spoiled or new demo's or anything, just nice to be reminded of it now and again so we don't feel like we've been forgotten behind all the awesome Patreon posts haha ^^
Thanks for the reply Kyrieru! :) Keep up the great work

    5. We hardly even know what these big, huge changes you've apparently made look like, because you've given us next to nothing, despite taking our money already. I'd hate to write this off as another crowdfunded lie, but goddamn, it's been over a year.

Yeasayers, saying I have no right to be mad is just wrong. Yeah, I know a timeframe wasn't established, but even you know that this is ridiculous. I don't want anything amazing or a full content dump, or something, I just want SOMETHING. Something that proves my money wasn't just stolen with a lie.

      Delete
    6. You sure how development works? Games don't appear out of thin air the moment you pay for them, especially when it's called a PRE-order. A year since pre-order is far from ridiculous. "Lie' or 'stealing' are also a poor choice of words, since he's always being straight forward and still fully intends on delivering when the game is -finished-.

And I'm not even saying that you don't have a right to be mad. Like whatever, waiting sucks and we all have different ways of coping with it. Even I'd support the idea of maybe having a demo with a single room and a single enemy in it, to show how it controls in the case that Kyrieru feels the real demo is not coming anytime soon. But that would also take away some development time from more important things.

You know, just try not to sound like a baby who shouldn't even be here. You didn't add anything to the discussion. Nothing that people above you haven't said already, except for calling Kyrieru a liar and a thief.

    7. To be fair, it's more like people walked in to a cheap pizzeria and pre-ordered a pizza they assumed would only take a a few hours (based on the last slice they had), only to be told "I'm making the best damn pizza the world has ever seen", and now the chef is apparently growing wheat and vegetables somewhere.

People were perfectly fine with what the game was. There's no problem with that, so I see no problem with people who are annoyed about the prolonged development, or a lack of visual proof. Those people are free to a refund, and I'll finish the game either way.

      Delete
    8. Whoooooah, Guys, (Anonymous), calm your tits. Seriously you need to back up a little.

Using these descriptions I think peoples only concern (mine too) is that, they have gone into this Pizzeria, ordered a Pizza.... then they can't smell it being cooked, they can't see it being cooked, for all they know the Chef has run out the back with their money never to be seen again.

The issue is I think, People just want proof that the "Pizza" is actually being cooked.

Since "placing the order", we have seen nothing about the game, you have barely mentioned it and we have seen zero progress on it, so it makes a lot of people worried that their money has been "stolen".

As with my opening post, I think it would be really beneficial if we just got an update on how things are going, maybe once a month or so, just so we can be reminded/reassured that the game IS being worked on and our money hasn't just, vanished. Since right now, all we see is Paetron updates asking for even more money ^^; It's kinda worrying, I'm sure you understand.

I just feel you may need a little more communication between yourself and the buyers :) After all, as soon as money has exchanged hands, it has become a Business transaction. It was not a donation, so it should be treated as such and I believe your buyers/investors deserve a little update from time to time ^^

Anyhoo, hope that didn't seem too preachy as I meant it all in the most polite way possible ^^; Thank you! :)

      Delete
    9. Oh come on, really? Do you truly believe Kyrieru is a chef who would "run out the back"?

Have you people never had anything delayed on you before? Touch luck, but that shiz happens and you just gotta deal with it. It's not a matter of a "donation vs payment". Even when you pre-order something. that doesn't guarantee that the developer actually has to deal with your insecurities that are mostly entirely in your head. They can, like for example large studios can just whip out some trailers to satisfy the fanboys while they're waiting. But do you guys seriously want Kyrieru to spend time creating a trailer to pander to your imaginary problems ("what if this internet guy wants to stop working on his game, steal my dollars and and ruin his good reputation as H-game dev forever in the process"), instead of working on the game you're actually waiting for?

I do understand you completely, but I don't agree with the way you put it, the same way as I don't agree with the guy who started the whole pizza analogy, which I also think was way off. I just think that it would be better to chill and wait for the game instead of stressing him out over not meeting your expectations of pandering to your psychological needs.

      Delete
    10. Not at all. As I said multiple times and you seem to be ignoring (to attack everyone who comments here, fanboy much?), all people want is the odd update, it doesn't have to be screenshots or anything (let alone a full fucking trailer, that would take way too much time, no one asked for that). It'd just be nice to get an update now and again, a road map, just letting us know how it's getting on. Because as of right now it's been totally ignored and THAT is why so many people are getting anxious. I trust Kyrieru as a creator but you can see why people would be getting worried, 1year afterwards with little to no updates on how things are going.

I back things on Kickstarter ALOT but atleast they keep their Buyers updated on progress and such.
However, having backed things on Kickstarter, heck I have commissioned artwork from artists before and trust me, I have also seen it's dark side of it all. Creators up and vanishing with money, delaying work forever in the hopes people give up asking, and ofcourse most common, spending all of their money and then having to beg for more.
(again not saying Kyrieru is such a person before you begin fanboy ranting defending him again, just saying how things might look to some people and how things can happen).

I have to completely disagree with your outlook on this, It is hardly Pandering. After accepting the money this became a pre-order, a buisness transaction and I believe it should be treated as such. You should comfort/update your investors. I mean come on, before you go off again, how hard is it to write a short paragraph about progress, ideas or anything like that. It takes 5-10minutes TOPS, so don't go calling that bullshit.

As I keep saying, I just feel the games investors (that's pretty much what they are when they pre-ordered) deserve small, bite-sized updates. So they do not feel forgotten. As it is clearly becoming an issue and is better addressed sooner rather than later.

    11. Hmmm, did it actually seem like I was "fanboying" or calling anything you said "bullshit"? Because I can hardly agree with most of the opinions that you're trying to put in my mouth. I wasn't trying to be defensive for Kyrieru or anything. I thought I was just being level headed about the issue and even expressed my disagreement with people on the polar opposite side of your opinion, the "come to donuts shop and expect pizza for money" guy up there in one of the comments. I was hardly "attacking" anyone. The fact that two people disagree on something is not an attack, mate.

I do actually mostly agree with the small updates part. They would indeed be nice. But I also acknowledge the fact that Kyrieru wants to avoid gameplay spoilers. Not sure what he could write about and not spoil it. He also doesn't have a PR and marketing team to handle periodic communication like the Kickstarter projects. He doesn't want to deal with abusive comments that appear every time. Not everyone is as thoughtful as you and wants just small bits and pieces of information. I think you underestimate the time investment that has to be put into preparing a plan of releasing well timed information about a game project to public and handling the relations with your audience after the release of said information.

(An investor is someone, who puts money into a business and expects growth/financial returns. You are not an investor. You just made a pre-order, a deal to get a game at a date yet unknown, which you will. Too bad about you previous bad experiences, but I think it's better not to throw all creators in the same bucket, especially if he keeps adamantly reminding us that he is still working on the game. If he had any other intentions, he'd be avoiding the issue.)

  20. The game is in such an unfinished state that the story is still 'malleable'? >_> It's been over a year since just preorders. :(

    1. I work on the engine, base-content, and the overall design first. The story comes mid-development when the mechanics are more established and I have something solid to work around, and goes on until the end, which is when I'd focus on committing to key points and polishing the game as a whole. I'm not comfortable committing to a beginning yet, since there are specifics to the story that are still up in the air, and I don't want something that I'll have to work around or redo entirely.

How much will this cost again? I've had 5 dollars set aside for a while, but ever since I last checked in February, it's starting to seem like it'll cost more due to the more extensive production time. (I know, I'm crazy for not assuming that no content previews means no content. Call me a rebel.)

  24. Since you haven't tried the Fragments demo, I guess you didn't see the new alpha of the LAB -still alive- sequel. There's now this big machine boss who gives you a different scene depending on whether you face him or have your back turned on him when he catches you.

I hope there are at least some sweet machine enemies/traps in Noaika, so can't wait for that.
