Ongoing first update.



-Added prototype enemy with H animation.
-Programmed some of the H controls
-Added some sounds.

No game loop yet, but you can mess around and H the first enemy. 
This demo demonstrates what manual animation controls will be like, roughly.

Normally, animations will play automatically, with the player only having some control.
However, I plan on making it so that if the player initiates an animation where the protagonist is dominating the enemy, the player will  thrust manually. (though it will also be possible to set it to auto, for those who want it.)

I also plan on making it so you can play as any enemy, male or female. This will either be in the form of transformations, or simply as an extra mode. In this mode, you will have manual control over dominate animations.

For now, the controls are as follows once grabbed:

Down: Insert/thrust
Right: Initiate climax. (later this will have conditions or be based on stuff)
Up: Pull out.

Don't worry about bugs for now.

All animations will function this way, and some will have extra controls, depending on what the animation is.

  2. The playable enemy idea reminds me of Abe's Odyssey/Exodus with the mind control mechanics, though that was more so used to solve puzzles

    1. No, I don't think so. Most games just have you control the stages, which is not how these will work, since you have a bit more control.

    2. I did a prototype that had you remain in control of the female protagonist but you controlled struggle against or with the attacker's thrusts. Going in the same direction reduced their arousal gain, gradually slowed their thrust rate and reduced their time to orgasm. Going against their direction increased their arousal, increased their thrust rate and reduced their time to orgasm. Lowering their rate enough allowed you to escape. Doing nothing was somewhere in the middle. It was pretty hot and it was a rhythm game. Your current choice has character switching implied which is kind of weird but the thrust control is a cool evolution of h-game mechanics. Maybe check out something like I mention where you keep controlling the same character?

I'm finding some bugs with the animation detection when jumping. sometimes the charachters won't line up, or they'll stay in the air, or one of them will glitch out shaking back and forth, and if you jump and attack enough times the chrachters get stuck in place, unresponsive to controls. Need some kind of delay to let the charachters fall back to the ground and adjust unless it's a flying enemy or something.

  6. The animation itself is great though, I like how much variety you get with the smooth transitions between each animation since you can chain them together. It would be nice if there was a keystroke buffer so that the animation doesn't get stuck occasionally from timing, or maybe the animation could be sped up or slowed down to match the keystroke speed.

    1. If you have a laptop with an FN key, you may need to press that to use F keys. It works that way on the surface for example.

  12. Hello! I am having issues with Eroico, when I got the game awhile ago, I remapped the keys to the game and now no matter what I have tried, nothing seems to work. I can't click on the options section anymore because the keys don't work and I can only click enter and up in the game. I can't seem to fix the issue myself and was hoping you could do something like add a mouse cursor for the title screen so that I could by pass this. Could you please look into it? Thank you!

  16. I usually prefer having the enemy progress through it's H animations automatically with the protag having to struggle to get out but if this is just one of the options it's pretty good!

    Also if pregnancy does end up being in the game, perhaps you could link being able to control enemies to that? Say for example MC gives birth to weird slug thing, MC is out of commission for a short period of time whilst the child goes out to get food, attack other girls it might find on the way, etc all whilst probably being a lot more fragile and easy to kill. Maybe a small benefit would be that any food it brings back or non-important items can be brought back to MC without as big a risk until it becomes hostile again from maturing or something, idk.

  18. Huh. That's strange, for some reason the up/down controls when controlling the animation are inverted for me. Up is thrust and down is pull out. Oh well, i'll just blame it on the bugs that will be fixed down the line.
    This is looking great despite being an extremely barebones demo though, the combat with the sword's different hitbox area peculiarities is both intrincate and entretaining to play with, keep up the good work.

  19. So what will your options be when the enemy is taking the initiative? Like can you choose between struggling to escape and cooperating to make them finish faster?

    1. Depends on the animation. There might be leg wrap, or for example if an enemy's face is close to her's you might be able to press a button to kiss them, etc. May be able to make them expend more stamina than you by making them enjoy it more, etc.

  20. I think you should reduce the startup lag for the basic attack. There's like a half-second of delay before the sword actually swings, and it makes timing the impact a little hard.

    For the climax mechanic, have you thought about making it similar to the struggle mechanic? Where each thrust fills a slowly decreasing bar, and when you hit the top it initiates the climax animation. It would be a fun parallel, if you don't mind gamifying the h-scenes a little.

  23. just my brainstorming, but I think there should be some gameplay incentive for people to commit to the sex. RPGs can do this well because they can blend things like mp and stun turns with the h elements, making for different strategies depending on if you want to go for the sex or not, that one sacrifice princess game does it well, where sex itself builds mp, but climax sets you to 0 mp. The only thing I personally can think of, for a more action oriented game, is to do something similar with a stamina system, where maybe the max stamina and recovery you have goes up and down based on the various sexual elements, kind of like how using magic works in salt and sanctuary. What are some of the systems you're considering?

    1. Can't describe it in depth since anything is hypothetical at this point. The effect of sex depend on the stats, the stats depend on the game loop, etc. All I know is that ideally sex will have different uses depending on the player's attributes, rather than being either good or bad all the time. That is, you should be able to build your character's state so that sex is always good if it meets certain conditions, but that state can change, and what types of sex are good can change. (or whether it's bad can change based on what resource you're trying to acquire or maintain at that time)

      Might want to make it start twice or even three times as big, though. It's gonna be tiny on any 1080p monitor, which almost every person on Earth has been using for years now.

      You already know this, though. Your finished games all had great scaling options. Keep up the good work! Your art is great!

    2. Right now the default is only windowed because when I test things, it tends to be more convenient in windowed mode. The default for the game will be fullscreen.
      (Also important to note that F5 also affects how it looks fullscreen)

    That sounds a bit counterintuitive, as left/right are usually used to change speed/position. Expect lots of "early endings" as funny as it sounds. xD



    Down (before): Insert (if not dominating, the enemy do it auto)
    Up (any time): Pull out. (can be restricted to conditions)

    Down (auto): Initiate climax. (conditions be based on stuff)
    Left (auto): change speed to slower in same animation
    Right (auto): change speed to faster (OR change position if trigger is avaiable)

    Right (manual): thrust
    Left (manual): change position (if trigger is avaiable)
    Down (manual): Initiate climax.
