Hills? MEET GUY WITH BLOOD.

WELL THEN.

After getting exhausted, dizzy, and collapsing from walking halfway to a store that's just down the street, I kind of figured it was time to go to the hospital.

Turns out, the reason why I was in a state of perpetual weakness and fatigue was because my blood count was so low that I could have gone into a state of shock and died at any time. Funny, that.

Soooooooooo....

A few days and one blood transfusion later, I feel like I've activated some sort of infinite stamina cheat code. I had been like that for so long,  that I had forgotten what it was like to not run out of breath from walking up a hill, or what it was like to be able to wake up early in the morning with energy. An over the counter solution to a life threatening problem is a pretty good deal, if you ask me.

Anyhow.

I'll spare you the introspection one experiences when sitting in a hospital bed. For now I'm just glad to be home. Any long term changes to my life goals are irrelevant for now, since my first step is still just finishing another game. I'll worry about the rest later.

IN SUMMARY:
-Not dead
-Hills are my bitch
-There's this thing called a "sunrise"???
-HEMOGLOBIN

That is all.

    1. But how did it all get OUT of you in the first place?

Good to hear you went to the hospital though. Bad to have to, good to go.

Kyrieru, don't you dare to die on us. Be well.

  2. That really puts the first part of your last post in perspective.

Good to know you're doing better now though. One's health comes before one's ambitions.

  4. That's quite a scary situation, but i'm really glad you could get better and that you are so energized. Keep up the good work and don't die of anemia while at it man!

  5. Well, damn. Good to hear you figured out what was wrong and got it taken care of it. Definitely keep an eye on that in the event it starts to happen again.

  9. How did you go to the hospital? Depending on your insurance (assuming you live in the US) coverage, that shit is a dangerous gambit. If it turned out you didn't have anything "wrong" with you (as per a long list of 'valid ailments' your insurance company has somewhere), you could have lost a lot of money.

I'm in the same boat, and I'm almost certain it's medical, but... if it's not, those bills are insane. And the normal doctor just refers me to (uncovered) specialists, so I'm at a crossroads. This is why I am interested in hearing more details as to how you overcame the anxiety I'm feeling now, and just got up and went to the hospital one day. I assume it was just hyperbole and you meant "the doctor, and then the hospital as per the doctor's recommendation"?

Anyway, I'm glad you're okay and can go back to producing terrifying pornography.

    1. If I'm not mistaken he lives here in Canada. Our government ran health insurance should cover it, or at least I hope it dose.

God knows we pay through the bum hole in taxes over here for it!

    2. Personally, I find the anxiety of "I am possibly about to die" overrides the anxiety of "I may have to pay a lot of money" pretty effectively.

    3. Dude, anyone with half a brain should recognize that it is not normal to be on the verge of collapse just walking down the street. What could possibly make you think saying he went directly to the hospital was hyperbole?

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Kyrieru. That's a pretty messed up story. Any idea how you lost so much blood?

  13. Yeesh, Kyrieru! Don't die, mmkay?

What, exactly, did/do you have? I honestly don't think I've ever heard of someone just randomly running low on blood.

    1. Any form of anemia. The problem is less in volume and more in contents.
Running low on amount is an entirely different problem with different symptoms (look up hypovolemia on wiki, contrast with anemia).

Anyway, welcome back to the land of the sanguine, Kyrieru.
It's dangerous to go alone, take this. *throws couple O- blood packs*

  16. I'm glad that you're okay. I guess this means that you need more iron in your blood?

If you just need more iron in your blood, then you might want to visit a Mongolian BBQ restaurant from time to time. That or start taking iron supplements.

  20. Aso glad to hear you're feeling better now. I almost wish that my weakness was due to some sort of medical issue that could be solved with a trip to the hospital, rather then difficulties sleeping (which I know it is).

  21. glad to see your ok from that dood, something like that would scare the hell out of me, but i'm a natural coward :3 hope whatever you did to LOSE that much blood to affect you like that doesn't happen again or anymore that that matter

  22. Glad your ok. I hate going to the doctor also. I pretty much have to collapse also before I'd go.

Doctors tend to screw me up 50% of the time. Prefer not to take any chances unless its necessary -_-

  23. glad to hear you are ok now. Did they ever say what was causing you to loose blood, it would suck to have to go back again.

  28. I'm glad to hear that you got better, but next time listen to an advice and stop having sex with vampires. When they get too much into it, they get all hungry and start sucking your blood. It's okay if you're like Wolverine, but if you're not... Well just be more careful next time =)

  33. So I may not be an expert on blood, but I have it on confidence that blood cells only 'live' for a certain period of time before being replaced by other blood cells.
Am curious and slightly paranoid/concerned to ask if you're still in your hyperhemoglobinized state or if things have mellowed out a bit, for better or worse.

  34. Following the Kyrieru blog is an exercise in disappointment. Still, glad you are feeling better. One of these days when you get another game like Kurovadis out I will be immensely happy. Here's hoping all goes well for you!

Right? I check every day for new art, then I'm like "awwww :( "
His drawings are great, though, so I keep checking, hahah!

I wish he'd post sketches and stuff, at least, though! I love his work, and the "behind the scenes" kind of artwork is always the most interesting to me, anyway.

    1. I don't post art because I never draw anymore -___-

I only draw and work my way back up to an acceptable level when I need to do CGs. Otherwise I just never find the time between other development stuff to sketch random stuff and stay consistent. That's more or less why when I try to get myself to post some art, it ends up being terrible..

      Delete
    2. Hahah! If you're not drawing, then I guess the lack of art posts can't be helped, eh? I don't draw enough either, though. :)
You say your art is bad, and while your cg work might not be incredible, your animations are. The timing on all of them is fantastic, and everything has a great sense of depth.
Basically, I think you *are* a really good artist. If you studied anatomy a bit, you'd see progress in your cg drawings quickly, I think. From your pixel art, it's obvious that the third eye in your head is working very well. Animating from the imagination isn't a small feat! :)

      tldr: I think you're a good artist, even if you don't. X'D
I think most people here share that opinion of you. :3

      Delete
    3. Well, I'm not a bad artist per-se, it's just that I don't put the time into it to stay consistent. With art you get rusty pretty fast, especially with things like anatomy where familiarity is key. On the other hand, I do pixel art all the time so it comes easier.

Not to mention, when I'm doing CGs I basically end up doing two CGs a day, which isn't really enough time to put a lot of effort into it. Perhaps one of these days I'll whip myself into shape and try a comic or something. I used to draw a lot of manga in highschool. (which is where most of my improvement actually happened.)

  36. Do you mind a bit of constructive criticism for your art? With your CGs, I love them to bits. I only have a couple of problems though. I think the nipples and vagina could be drawn in a different style. Now they're actually done REALLY well but something about them doesn't match the art style of the rest of the picture, like sticking a photograph on a drawing for example... The other thing is that I find the sprites look a whole lot cuter than the actual CGs because the CGs don't look like they follow the designs for the sprites...

Ahh, sorry! I'll stop now, I feel like an ass hole! I'm really sorry if that sounded harsh in any way... I mean I'm not great at art either so I guess the last thing I'd want is someone telling me how to do my drawings...

    1. Nah, everything you said is valid criticism..

  37. Hehe, I can feel the energy radiating from your post.
Well, good to hear that you're not dead, that would...kinda suck.

Good luck with the new game! A casual-ish game would be a nice break.

  38. Game clearly requires an enemy which disarms you and uses the umbrella to take advantage of you.

  39. Just an idea that comes to mind, seeing as you made mention of a Kurovadis 2, don't recall if you said it would be a new girl or not but is it possible that if you do use a new girl that information from the original could be read? Basically allowing those who own Kurovadis to allow the original hero as an optional character, just carrying over all the animations with perhaps a preset stat build.

I don't know all that would be required however.

    1. When I make Kurovadis 2, I won't be using the same resolution, so I couldn't just carry over the sprites.

As for if it will be the same girl, I've yet to decide.

      Delete
    2. Just a suggestion, maybe instead of using the same girl for Kurovadis 2 you can play as a different girl but still somehow involve the first one in the game. (Sorta like what UnknownFox said) If that makes any sense? Maybe make her a character you talk to in the game or something along those lines. I loved the first one and Eroico and look forward to more of your work!

    3. Pfft, while other artists are doing half-assed H games that barely count as games, as H, or both, Kyrieru's making multiple professional quality projects, even going so far as to do so without blood, just as a handicap? I've heard of 'no hands', but now you're just showing off. :P

But yeah, not dying, generally good news, outside of necrophilia or the like, I suppose.

...wait, 'necrophilia' is in the spellcheck dictionary, but 'spellcheck' isn't?
