Just a quick update,
I was unable to receive a blood transfusion due to Covid precautions, so my options were to either wait until I was more almost dead, or just take it easy and slowly not be almost dead.
So it may a month or so while I improve the being alive side of things.

ОтветитьУдалитьThere is no evidence of Covid being transmissible through blood transfusion according to the CDC, so it must just be the hospital/ treatment-facility taking general precautions right? Depending where you are, mightn't it be possible to seek treatment elsewhere?

Yes it's probably just patient to patient contact precaution, limiting when people have to come back or use a bed if needed. "Not unless it's an emergency" is a classic in this kind of situation, so beds are kept avaiable in case they'd be needed for the pandemic
УдалитьIt's just classic medical administrations. It's super frustrating but there's nothing to do aside of waiting for the next appointment...Or search for another establishment that comply with what needs to be done.
ОтветитьУдалитьIt's down to hemoglobin levels. Unless it is below 70, they will not perform a blood transfusion. Mine was just above that, but to get a blood transfusion I would have to either wait a random amount of time until mine is lower, or go in for blood tests constantly.

УдалитьWhat's your blood type? Maybe one of us can volunteer to donate blood for your transfusion, idk how the medical procedure works but if we have a compatible and willing donor, couldn't we find a doctor willing to go through with the procedure?

ОтветитьУдалитьI cannot believe this "health care". They rather see people die from a dangerous disease than infuse some blood. COVID is just a virus, another type of flu. If the immune system is in a good shape it can do nothing. I don't believe what can they do for money.
