Future Patreon considerations
Also, I've been thinking about what it would be like to eventually do a Patreon funded game instead of animations. (Making a game and adding an enemy or some form of H-content each week.). It isn't something I plan on doing any time soon, but it's something I'm thinking about for the future nonetheless. Since I'll be financially better off once I release Noaika, it might just be something I do for fun since it wouldn't be bound by DLsite content rules, and I wouldn't have to worry about how it will sell because it'd be free.
That said, I'm mostly just trying to think about what the best option for such a game would be, given that it would have to be designed around the idea that it wouldn't have much content in the beginning. I assume it would have to be some sort of sand-box game, a simulator, arena based, or a fighting game. If it's not designed for a lack of content, then it would be little more than a slowly developed free game with a new playable version every week. (But hey, maybe that's what some people would want).
And before you ask; No, Patreon content is ever going to replace my normal games, so don't worry about that -__-

Interesting... Not sure what you exactly you imagine a simulator like that could be, I have a natural aversion to simulators by now with all simulators on Steam, but who knows :) What do you think of roguelike games like the Binding of Isaac or Spelunky - somewhat randomly generated levels with changing enemies in each stage. Maybe that could work for weekly growing game. At first identical levels with single enemy which could slowly start getting filled with enemies, traps and other game mechanics.

If I did a patreon game, it wouldn't be normal because I wouldn't be selling it like a normal game. Because I would be paid to make it in the first place, it would be free.
УдалитьI wouldn't run two Patreons simultaneously. Not unless each was every second week. However, if I started a game for a Patreon, then I would get it to a playable state before starting. Same way I did a couple animations before I did the current Patreon.
Even with Noaika (before the Patreon), I worked on a couple side projects every once and a while in my free time. It's why I haven't gone nuts working on Noaika lol. Working on two games would just mean that I get to do stuff I want to do in Noaika, but can't, because it doesn't fit thematically.
He has to finish Noaika first and also prepare the framework for the game he want to be adding content into. So I think you can calm your tits, man ^__^

I'm really interested to see how that first monster looks, the one with the forward facing tentacles on his 'face' for some reason, especially with his H animation, he looked really muscular, but he was also short and stocky due to the size of the characters, so he looked quite a bit like a giant baby, I reckon with this change that monster is going to look wildly different.

- Starmie (rubbing), Golduck (gangbang, maybe underwater), Blastoise (could shoot water out of its cannons when ejaculating :3), Gengar (possession), Dewgong (rape underwater), Dragonair (use that beaded tail :3 ), Pinsir (in the anime she was afraid of bugs and this is the scariest mofo among them), Beedrill (oviposition), Mr. Mime (fucking her against invisible wall), Lickitung (no comment). I love the looks of the new sprite art for Noaika! Honestly, I was a bit worried when we'd see a release, but man the quality has boosted to an incredible amount. Personally I'd prefer seeing a kickstarted game over a Patreon-funded game, sorta like a bunch of us pitched in early to help you get started on the game, but I get if you wanna keep adding to a free project over time patreon could be a good way to keep an incentive for doing it. Also, I'd rather buy the game straight from you rather than see a game heavily censored due to dlsite's japanese censoring bullshit getting in the way. Is there rules against making a game completely uncensored to buy straight from your page and selling a censored version at a slightly lower price on dlsite? Oh and Offbeatr is an adult crowdfunding site I've seen some adult games get started on if you wanna look into that for future development.

УдалитьI like the idea of a patron-founded game that would slowly get expanded. I think it as last year when you spoke about a game concept about a girl that was stranded in an alien planet and she would need to survive, gather resources and could capture/breed/train monsters.

Add in something akin to a failing dimensional-travel portal and it'd be a great setting for an open ended game:
Guy/Girl gets caught in a lab accident, ends up in an alien world, needs to find a way to survive and get home! He/She eventually manages to rebuild the device that sent him/her to this world in the first place, but it can only target random worlds/dimensions/times, so every now and then a new patch comes by and a new area opens up with weird new items/skills to experiment with, maybe a simple adventure or two and a few H-Events.
... Now that I think about it, that sounds like "Doctor Who: The H-Game".
Meh, Noaika is already an awesome sci-fi game, and Crisis Point Extinction by Anon42 has a premise similar to what you just described.

Original idea, by any means take any elements:

The owner could be a corrupt merchant who starts building a town around the dungeon entrance, using the money you find in the dungeon, and the bigger the city the gets the more interesting daytime content there could be.
Yes puh-lease! I actually love this one! Like at the beginning, he can only ride her in his tent and as you progress he builds himself a mansion full of other female slaves and a sex dungeon in the cellar. Each day, she'd have to choose at least one sex act to do, or he would punish her by throwing her in the dungeon unarmed. Each act could also give her a different kind of buff or power-up in the dungeon. And there could be smaller scenes with other NPCs... Oh god...

Youve procrastinated so god damned long that you want to move on to something else now because you changed your mind so much about Noakia that you lost interest in it. The fact that people will give you money for something like this is kind of embarrassing, theyre like those people that get baited in to some of these Steam Early Access cash-and-grabs... Theyre never going to get a payoff and theyre going to regret it in the future.

УдалитьA lord of the flies or maze runner type setting might be a good starting point for a game which includes periodic content updates? It'd be neat to see new events introducing the content but also cap a maximum size on it before it starts to stagnate.
ОтветитьУдалитьTo clarify, you'd have a large area all available from the start in a lord of the flies type setting. New hazards would get added to familiar areas as time progresses. With the maze runner dealio, you'd start with a small area, but constantly open up new areas. The more mobile hazards from those areas might also begin to infiltrate older areas.

УдалитьThe lower body can be sort anthro-like, but it has to be humanoid, or the placement has to be in relation to a humanoid part. (For example, a spider girl might have a torso that ends with a vagina, but if it was just a vagina stuck on a spider that that wouldn't be the same)
Another example would be, a cat girl could have cat style jointed legs, but the overall figure would have to be humanoid. So for me, certain animals or monsters are more compatible than others. Feline legs with a human body? Doable. Centaur? Not for a female centaur.

Thirdly, if you do a game, I'd like to see you expand a little past metroidvania. Not completely, I love your games, just everything sometimes blurs together for me at times. I'm just saying you don't have to do the usual kind of platforming adventure ROR. Tobihime interbreed and some of the Lok stuff deviates from the standard a little bit, but I really think you have it in you to wow us. for example, I see little reason why there cant be a rouge-like in which you amass traits (race, colors, items like ears or cat tails, bigger boobs) throughout the game. for example you could do a game in the future where DNA could be augmented or you have superpowers and in order to collect traits you need to get sperm from some guys.
Whatever games you do in the future, I hope you find a reason to bring back the initial design for the MC from that monster-trapping idea. She looked interesting.
ОтветитьУдалитьhonestly I think the color is ingenious, it really depends on the players interpretation of the lighting since I think it's safe to say in a non-racist way that everybody has a preferred skin color, you can see her as just about all of them with minimum effort, I don't know if this was intentional but it's pretty damn neat.
